Intersection LCM

Intersection LCM (formerly known as Lutheran Campus Ministry) at UM is near and dear to my heart. I came to this organization at the start of my freshman year of college looking for a church home while at school. I found so much more. I have gotten opportunities to help lead worship vocally and instrumentally, grown in my faith, and developed relationships with people that I will never forget. I was honored to be selected as a Peer Minister my sophomore year to help recruit students and advertise our ministry to students at student organization events like Festifall and Pride Outstide. During the school year, I remained active there attending and serving in worship on a regular basis and attending midweek activities catered for students.

My junior year, many things changed as the campus pastor took medical leave. I and other Peer Ministers took this as an opportunitiy to make major changes to our organization in attempt to increase regular attendance and student involvement. In addition to acquiring a new pastor, one of the biggest changes was the name Intersection LCM, which more accurately captured the audience we were targeting (college students at an intersection in their lives between continuing education and working in the real world, intersection between different faiths and communities, etc) and what we wanted to accomplish in our work.

With the new branding came new responsibilities for me. I completely redesigned our website this summer to make it more attractive to students and easier to use.  The 2015-16 school year proved to be a challenge as I remained the only active undergraduate student there. I continued to recruit students and promote Intersection LCM during this time of change and rebirth.

After my graduation with my Bachelor's degree, I decided to continue my faith journey at Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. Even though I am moving on, the impact that Intersection LCM had on me was very positive and lasting. I am grateful for all the experiences I had there and look forward to this next phase of my life.
